Fundación CTIC is the home of the
W3C Spanish Office established
in 2003.
Mission
The main goal of the W3C Spanish Office is to promote the adoption of W3C recommendations by
developers and application designers and the web community, in general, within the Spanish and
Latin American market, as well as to encourage the participation of organizations committed to the
creation of future recommendations by joining the W3C.
Main functions
- To promote the dissemination, adoption and use of W3C standards.
- To encourage the participation of organizations committed to the creation of future
recommendations by joining the W3C.
- To organize events for the promotion of W3C standards: conferences, courses, tutorials,
workshops, presentations, etc.
- To organize working groups meetings with the Spanish companies that are members of the
W3C.
- Local dissemination of W3C standards through the production of own materials and the location
of W3C materials.
- Creation of local discussion fora.
- To serve as W3C communication channel
- To provide guidance and support to solve technical problems in the application of W3C
technologies.
- To serve as a gateway for the participation of business and universities in W3C research groups
made up of researchers from all around the world. The participants in these groups are W3C
researchers as well as others coming from big technological companies or research centres.
