Definition:

The Information Society Observatory is the monitoring tool and the source of updated information for the Asturian society on the ongoing development of Information Society within the region.

Its main goals are:

• To evaluate the degree of Information Society implementation in projects developed in the framework of convergence plans in Spain and Europe.
• To serve as an information tool for evaluation and guidance, of regional policies within the Information Society field.
• To provide the necessary information to benchmark the evolution of ICT within the Principado region against Europe and other regions.
• To disseminate information about the degree of ICT implementation in Asturias.
