Multiplic@
Multiplic@ is a project developed under the EQUAL Community Initiative, financed by the European
Social Fund and the Regional Government of the Principality of Asturias. Its goal is
supporting and promoting e- business, in the sense of the incorporation of information and
communication technologies to all business processes of Asturian enterprises and
micro-enterprises.
The project is aimed to companies and workers from the following sectors and target groups:
- Hotel.
- Agro food.
- Agricultural cooperatives.
- Wood first transformation.
- Companies managed by women.
- Entrepreneurs and enterprises that are under consolidation processes in the rural area.
Mutiplic@ aims to support region companies that, due to their size, legal form (self-employed,
social economy companies, micro enterprises, SMEs) and lack of resources, are at disadvantage to
adapt to new structural changes and to respond to challenges in the context of adaptation of
workers and of the organizations themselves.
General objectives:
- To support and promote the adaptation of the Asturian companies to e-business.
- To qualify workers in the use of Information and Communication Technologies for business
management as a means of improving competitiveness and employment stability.
- To develop methodological models and application models with measures to achieve the
above-mentioned objectives in traditional business sectors of the regional rural
economy.
- To promote women’s inclusion in the Information Society by the acquisition of e-business skills
that can be used in their business management and organization.
- To generate more competitive business in the Asturian micro enterprise by using Information and
Communication Technologies.
Main action lines:
Multiplic@ proposes the following stepped actions focused on the project target groups:
- Awareness-raising programs.
- Actions for adaptation of workers to ICT through empowerment standards (e-worker).
- Actions for companies adaptation through a number of requirements standards (”enterprise in the
net” or e-enterprise).
- Activities aimed at the construction of a model through further joint intervention with several
companies: “the Multiplic@ net” strategy.
The business associations, which are part of the Development Partnership, will act as
facilitating “levers” of the introduction of enterprises and their workers to e-business.
The project has a planned duration of 3 years, until 2007 and one of its outputs will be to
train 800 workers and qualify at least 300 of them, as well as to adapt 85 companies and certify 40
of them.
The project also includes crosscutting actions, both internal and external, focused on:
- Gender perspective inclusion (equal opportunities between women and men) in a transversal way
in all the project activities.
- Environmental awareness raising.
- Transnational exchange of experiences and innovative approaches.
- Mainstreaming and sustainability of project outputs.
- Project dissemination.
